This is most likely one of those "stupid questions," so please bear with me.
Is is possible to plug a dual voltage plug into a regular surge protector and plug that into a 220 outlet? (Specifically one that has ratings; Max Load: 15A 125VAC 60Hz, but also says TVSS 330V (L-N).)
The reason I'm asking is I am traveling abroad and am hoping I can use a surge protector I already have, rather than buying a new one, the "universal 110-240" I've seen are rather expensive. I'll be using various chargers for my electronic equipment that are all dual voltage, and hopefully plugging those into an every day surge protector, which I'll plug into an adapter and then into the 220v power source. As I understand it, the country only has 220 outlets.
no it is not and you must also realize the voltage in foriegn countrys is not only at a different level the here but at a different frequentcy also.
you find there isnt one device you have that will work on other countries power sourses.
look up the countries on the internet and research there power distribution.
sorry.
