I was looking into becoming an electrical engineer, cause my first career choice went down the hole for certain reasons. I was just wondering what the apprentices think, how hard is it, can someone with low concentration on studies, but high concentration on hands on pass a course of something like this? Is there alot of work out there with this trade, without worring if your going to get laid off in a month? Any input on this trade would be greatly appreciated thanks.

The basis of career choice is what you want to become successful and be happy about it. It not because others are successful, you will necessarily be successful.

You need to weigh your options, if you become an electrical engineer, will you be happy about it? If you are happy, you will enjoy your work and lay-off is out of the question because you will become a valuable part of the company.
