I am very interested in starting a career in construction electricity. My question is for anybody who works in this field. I recently hurt my back and i was wondering if a career in construction electricity is physically demanding. With my condition my doctor and physical therapist said it would not be a good idea for me to pursue a career in any field where there is a lot of strain in the upper back and neck area. Is there a lot of heavy lifting required or is there any daily tasks that would effect my condition. I would really appreciate a detailed explanation of what the job consists of and your everyday tasks. THANK YOU

Sorry to hear about your back problems. If you have a bad back don't consider this line of work. There is considerable climbing, twisting, bending, kneeling and lifting required. You would need to work off ladders a lot. Those reels of wire get very heavy as well as the conduit you need to install.
