Gentle people !
Would like to convert a motor which I have and which runs on mains to a rechargeable soloution. Accepted that it may be that I need a gizzilion batteries ( or indeed one very very large one ) but know Idea how to go about finding out ...other than I have heard of P = V x I !
Details of the motor power stuff ( sorry for being too techie !!! ) appear to be 230-240v ( yup I'm a brit ...Scots to be exact ) - 50 Hz 0.8A . Motor needs to opperate in 1- 2min bursts
Keen to understand
1. What size of battery I'll need
2. How to rewire motor to accept battery output !
Why are you sorry for being 'too techie?' What do you think this forum is about? If you hadn't given that info, you wouldn't be getting any answers.
It's an AC motor, you can't just 'rewire' it, you'll need a suitable (for running a motor) inverter rated at least 200W (at least £30-£50) plus a battery say 12v 20 AH (typical motorbike battery) (about £30), and a means of charging said battery. That battery would run it for maybe an hour tops before going flat. A bigger battery would give you longer.
