Organisational Relationship:

Reports to: Electrical Project Manager

Responsible for: Hospital Electrical Materials Procurement

Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating the procurement process of all electrical items.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review all electrical drawings and specifications.

Undertake electrical materials take offs.

Checks material requisitions and orders against specification.

Maintains status record of all electrical material orders and deliveries.

Liaison with electrical and procurement departments.

Education/Licensure:

Minimum of B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education.

Proffessional Experience (essential):

A minimum of 10 years progressive post-graduate experience in design office/site experience.

A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior procurement position.

Specialised Knowledge (desirable):

Knowledge of the American National Electrical Code is desirable.

Experience in the following areas is also advantageous:

Residential
Office Buildings
Recreation Centres

Working knowledge of the following aspects is desirable:

Main power (also UPS) nd lighting distribution.
Standby generation.

Job Summary:

Responsible for supervision of shop and site Engineers and Foremen for all aspects of installation of Electrical systems on a variety of buildings projects, including a hospital, accomodation blocks , conference centre and school.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review all electrical drawings and specifications and control installation programmes.

Liaison with the Resident M&E Engineer for all drawing requirements.

Preparing all material requisitions for procurement.

Liaison with Q.C. Engineers to ensure that the works comply with drawings and specifications.

Maintain records of site progress against the programme and manpower estimaes to ensure construction targets are met.

Preparation of O&M manuals prior to hand-over of builings.

Attending to interface between the main contractor and his subcontractors for final commisioning of electrical systems.

Education/Licensure:

Minimum of City & Guilds qualification, HNC or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher education, or a formal apprenticeship.

B.Sc. In Electrical Engineering is preffered.

Proffessional Experience (essential):

A minimum of 15 years progressive post-qualification/apprenticeship experience in construction projects.

A minimum of 10 years experience in a supervisory experience.

Specialised Knowledge (desirable):

Knowledge of the American and British construction standards.
