JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & GENERAL DUTIES:
1. Main responsibility is to carry out on and offshore projects as requested by the Business Area Manager.
2. Manage workshop and personnel, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with client and company procedures.
3. Carry out inspection of equipment as requested, by providing a report detailing findings and recommendations.
4. Carry out engineering studies/designs in accordance with client requirement and codes. 5. Establish and maintain effective communication with Client personnel to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.
6. Liaise with Client’s offshore personnel to gain the necessary work permits and organise work programmes.
7. Ensure that work methods and activities optimise the use of available material, capital and personnel.
8. The incumbent is to ensure that the project work pack contains all the relevant instructions, procedures, drawings etc to enable the activity to be completed in conjunction with the organisation’s safe working practices.
9. Where legal requirements and organisational/development objectives conflict, the problem is identified and advice is sought from the appropriate personnel.
10. Responsible for keeping a daily log, completing timesheets and incident forms as and when required.
11. Ensure that project objectives are updated regularly with Team Members to take into account individual, team and organisational changes.
12. Carry out effective and constructive tool box talks with the Team Members highlighting potential problems for review by the Business Area Manager.
13. The incumbent is to ensure that objectives are explained in sufficient detail and in a manner and at a level and pace appropriate to all the relevant individuals.
14. Provide written reports and effective feedback on the general performance of team members.
15. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that subordinates are helped to perform their jobs effectively and have the learning opportunities through which their abilities and potential can be developed.
16. It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with and follows the company Policy for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the HSEQ Management System. The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to the HSEQ Manager.
17. The incumbent has a legal responsibility for acting, in the course of his employment, with reasonable care for his/her own safety and that of fellow employees. He must be fully conversant with local United Arab Emirates health and safety legislation as well as all British Standards literature relating to General Lifting Equipment.
18. The incumbent must adopt a co-operative attitude towards being assigned alternative or additional duties to that which they are primarily employed.
One of these duties will be to assist the Business Area Manager in gaining new business within the Middle East Region.
