i just bought a dewalt grinder / buffer it is only one speed is there anything i can buy to conrol the speed without harming the tool motor

purchase a current transformer similar to those used in dimmer switches.

No there is nothing you can do to SAFELY reduce the motor speed. The previous post is dangerous and WILL harm your tool, assuming that what he means was a VOLTAGE transformer. A Current Transformer would not do anything, it is used to measure current.

Please do not post answers if you do not know what you are talking about. You could get someone killed.

You can reduce the speed by using variable frequency inverters, but its not practical since VFI is too expensive..

Just use it as is.. I agree, current transformer no relation to the issue..
